Creating a Title tag is one of the most important – and easy – tactics for getting your website ranked higher. Here are the 4 steps. PS – Forget about waiting for the search engines to find you – you have to put a little effort in.
META TAGS: TITLE TAG
The first step is creating your meta tags, which help search engines “understand” your site. It sounds scarier than it is – basically, you’re inserting words and phrases into your code that serve as a alert to the search engines: “Here I am and here’s what I do!” I’ll be discussing 5 separate meta tags in this series.
The first meta tag is called the Title tag. It generally includes the title of your page, the theme, and your website link. Mine is below:

There are four things to remember with title tags:
- Limit it to 65 characters.
- Use your KWs up front.
- If you can do it smoothly, add a post | between KW’s in the title: Learn to Cook | French Cooking Classes.
- Put your company name at the end.
