I had no plans for New Year’s Eve.
Movie, restaurant, fireworks, stay out of Times Square…many options, no agenda.
A couple of movies looked good, some local restaurants offering a prix fixe, not too cold out. And with the NYC rent I pay, I should really take advantage of all these possibilities.
I was sleeping by 11pm.
The problem was not too little to do but too much.
Too many choices and no plan. The most common website mistake I see as a website copywriter.
Salesmen know you never offer your prospect too many options. Not in color, size, payment plan or even features. Too many choices confuses people. Confused people walk away, click away, run away.
Consumers want to know what you offer, and they want to know if and how you can help them. And they don’t want to jump through hoops to find out.
To make sure your home page tells your prospect what you do, write your content from their perspective …and leave the Who You Are for some other page.
